A little bit about me

Hello! As you can understand from the domain name, my name is Özcan ARICAN. I was born in Samsun in 1984 and I have been working as a fullstack developer since 2000

After finishing high school, I was inspired by the web designs of [Web 1.0] era, where butterflies followed mouse cursors and GIFs caused chaos everywhere. I decided to pursue this career and said ‘I can do this too!'. HTML was the first thing I learned how to use. It took me a long time to master CSS as well. Then I learned Java and used Java Applet, a popular web tool at that time, to add some flair to my static pages. This also gave me a head start with Java, which turned out to be very useful when I became a mobile developer years later. As I gained more customers and knowledge, I ventured into the complex world of PHP around 2004. PHP has been my loyal companion for many years and I still use it often today. Over time, JavaScript, which I used to underestimate, evolved and became an essential part of my web development workflow. I enjoyed creating frontends with CSS and HTML in native environments. I also used PHP for backend development and continued working on various projects. In the past decade, with the advancement of technology, I started to develop mobile applications using native languages such as Java and Objective C. I also used frameworks like ReactNative to speed up the process and offer more cost-effective solutions to my customers. Nowadays, I work on fullstack web applications using technologies such as Next, React, Node, PHP and integrate them with mobile applications when needed. My software journey has been a continuous learning and self-improvement process for the last 20 years. Thanks to the endless support of my dear life partner and my relentless curiosity, I believe it will continue for many more years
